The installation of artist Mark Davis' outdoor sculpture, Healing Waters, takes place November 15, 2012. The sculpture will be in the driveway entrance and complements the interior and other decorations in the area (including the Art Institute, Chicago Symphony, etc.).
The work is a suspended sculpture which will be above the drive way entrance. It represents the flowing of water and is made of blue and green leaves. Two of the leaves are in the photo shown here. The idea is to give the calming effect of water to those entering the hospital.
The piece is made possible by Gigi and Michael Pucker via the Pritzker Pucker Family Foundation.

A detail of Pae White's monumental "Bug Screen'' in downtown Cleveland shows how the work was inspired by the cellular patterns found on insect wings.
Made of red-painted aluminum, the work is a folded screen whose 14 sections stand 8 feet high and would be 40 feet long if extended fully. The sculpture was installed recently as part of a $15 million makeover of the plazas east and west of the federal building by the U.S. General Services Administration, which will be finished in about a year.
When artist Roark Gourley fashioned giant shoes that would sit in the Cosmopolitan, he had no idea he was creating one of the biggest photo opportunities on the Las Vegas Strip.
Gourley worked with a group of artists put together by Dean Daniel of Daniel Fine Art that helped create much of the whimsical artwork that has become a hallmark of the Cosmopolitan.
